New York State Library Genealogy Section
New York State Library has a comprehensive collection of family genealogies, local histories, DAR records, church records, census records, early newspapers and city directories on film, and other materials.


New York Genealogical and Biographical Society
The Society's Library collection contains family genealogies, biographies, genealogy and history periodicals, and reference materials, manuscript transcriptions of New York church and cemetery records, genealogical charts, maps, personal diaries and vital records. The Library has a broad variety of microfilm and microfiche titles, such as federal census, state census records, New York City directories, land records, probate records, church records, court and civil records of New Amsterdam and early New York City.
