September 2nd, 2008 · No Comments

Thanks to a Fairfield County Community Foundation–Donor Advised Fund, we are the FIRST public library in the country to provide remote access to ELLISTM, an English language-learning program, for free.  Stop by the Danbury Library to register for the program.  One of our instructors, available during these hours, will get you started.  You’ll then be able to connect to ELLISTM from home through the Language Center website.

If you own a television with a digital tuner or subscribe to a pay TV service, you will likely continue to receive TV programming as usual after the transition.

I stumbled across Radio Lingua Network the other day on the iTune Store. Based in South Ayrshire in UK, Radio Lingua provides free podcasts of language learning materials, as well as forums & blogs for fellow learners. For an additional cost, you can download .pdf lesson guides, flash cards, quizzes and reviews. Isn’t the internet the greatest tool of all!
