Activities in the Language Center have increased…

June 4th, 2009 · No Comments

As summer rolls around and people start traveling, we’ve seen a gradual increase in traffic in the Language Center area.  These are people who inquire about our ESL programs & services or asking for a simple immigration form to become a US citizen.

On our Language Center website, we try to provide answers to the information most often asked for and arrange them in a logical fasion for easy access.   For example, click on the “Learn English” box above to get information on ESL programs available in the library and around Danbury.  Click on “Citizenship” to get to the US Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) website to download the immigration forms you need.  For those of you who would like to learn a new language, click on “Learn Another Language” on left to go to either the Tell Me More program–an online language-learning program–or other related resources.

Please let us know if you have any questions by emailing us or make a comment on this blog.  We thank you for your patronage and hope you find this information helpful.  Don’t forget to check out the library’s new summer hours and the new lab hours before visiting us at the library.

Thank you and enjoy your summer!

One of the biggest complaints to learning a language is that you’d either have to have a CD or tape player or be tied to a computer.  Danbury Library carries a selection of popular languages in playaways for you to choose from.  You can now learn French or Spanish while jogging or cooking.
